The abrasive water jet is the optimal machining method for applications with high added value and is widely used for cutting aluminum and steel materials. It can cut materials ranging from 0.3mm to 180mm in thickness, regardless of the manufacturing volume. Since it does not undergo mechanical stress and is not affected by thermal deformation or thermal effects, it provides high-quality cut surfaces without stress, making it ideal for the production of test specimens made of metals and resins. There are various issues with small piece cutting using our equipment, making continuous processing difficult. However, with some leeway in tolerances, we devised a setting and cutting method to perform continuous cutting of 10mm squares.
